Created using NLP
Two key examples are:
- GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformers)
- BERT (Bi-directional Encoded Representations from Transformers)
Requires a seed phrase and then continues with more text.
This seed sentence can also be a question
Can be used for translations
Can be used to summarise texts.
Can be combined with knowledge graphs to create intelligent assistants.
Commercial uses include:
- Wizards for content creation (tourism, media, technical documentation, fictions, etc.)
- Summarisation tools for creating new texts from multiple sources
- Intelligent assistants, i.e. next generation chat bots. Chat bots can have a negative connotation, as they have previously provided scripted responses and often have limited use, frustrating users. I usually mention this to clients to highlight the difference between an intelligent assistant and a chatbot.
